Polished Orange Twist Calcite Crystal Tower. Gorgeous bright, rich orange Calcite with wavy, whispy patterns (hence ‘twist’). Excellent vivid colour! Wonderful polished finish. From Madagascar. Very Good to A Grade. Size approx 15cm. Weight approx 261g.

GEOLOGICAL

Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. It is colourless or white when pure. Calcite is best recognised by its relatively low Mohs hardness (3) and its high reactivity with even weak acids, such as vinegar. Natural rough Calcite feels smooth and ‘waxy’ to the touch.
