GEOLOGICAL

Peridot is a yellow-green translucent variety of Olivine. Unlike most other minerals, Peridot only occurs in green, albeit in many different shades and hues. Additionally, where most minerals get their colour from trace elements, Peridot’s colour is derivative of its primary composition.

Ranging from a yellow-lime to olive, dark green and almost brown, the specific hue of Peridot material is indicative of the locality it was mined.
