GEOLOGICAL

Diopside is a Calcium Magnesium Silicate and part of the pyroxene group. Along with Aegirine, Kunzite, Jadeite and others. It is sometimes fluorescent. Diopside is sometimes found (in small amounts) in Meteorites.

Diopside is generally pale green to grey, but can occur as blue, brown, colourless, snow white, or pale violet. Colour variations are due to the presence and amounts of various trace elements, typically Iron.

Chrome Diopside is a vibrant green variety of Diopside that is colored by Chromium, and to a lesser extent Iron.
