Yellow Calcite Natural Rough Piece.

These rough pieces are a translucent, pale yellow with some very clear areas and some rainbows. Very nice translucency with variable colour saturation. Also called Citrine Calcite. Very nice! Good to A Grade. Choose your weight below.

 

GEOLOGICAL

Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. It is colourless or white when pure. Calcite is best recognised by its relatively low Mohs hardness (3) and its high reactivity with even weak acids, such as vinegar. Natural rough Calcite feels smooth and ‘waxy’ to the touch.
