GEOLOGICAL
Zincite is the very rare crystalline formation of Zinc Oxide. Its primary colours are deep red to light orange, less often yellow, and rarely green, colourless or white. Zincite is translucent to transparent and feels heavy for its size due to its high specific gravity.
Fully formed pointed crystals are extremely rare and only known from two locations in the world, both situated in USA. They are the Franklin and Sterling Hill mines, where Zincite was an important ore of Zinc before the mines closed.
Crystalline Zincite is also sourced from Poland. Information varies, but to the best of our knowledge, there are two or three mine sources of Zincite. One is a famous smokestack fault some four decades ago in Olkusz. Another is the fire at Tarnowskie Gory mine around 5 decades ago. Third being the Zinc smelter slag locality in Upper Silesia, where it forms anthropogenically (post-mining).
Fascinatingly, at the beginning of radio technology development, Zincite crystals were used with Galena to make ‘crystal detectors‘ for popular radio receivers (called ‘crystal radio receivers’ in full). These simple radios use the power of the received radio signal to produce sound, needing no external power source.
Today, Zincite is a highly prized collector’s mineral.

Zincite vibrates with the lower chakras root and sacral. It is an excellent aid to remove blockages, balance the lower chakras and restore energy flow. This is especially useful for those working on their spirituality and/or developing their psychic gifts, as the lower chakras often become neglected. It aids in raising Kundalini flow.
Zincite brings energy and vitality to the body and spirit, stimulating fresh creativity and passion. Working with the lower chakras, Zincite is highly grounding, serving to anchor the light body in the physical realm. It’s also a great first aid stone for those experiencing trauma or shock. Zincite helps you feel more secure, soothing phobias and boosting your belief in your abilities.
